20th September 2024 –

Yayasan Pengguna Negara Malaysia (YPNM), Bintulu branch organized our 9th of the Three (3) days training course for “Occupational Safety & Health Coordinator (OSH-C)” 职业安全和健康协调员 in collaboration with Alpha FrontierHSE Consultancy Sdn Bhd (Accredited by the Department of Safety & Health Malaysia) at META Learning Centre, Time Square Mega Mall, Bintulu.

The main objective of this course is to compliance the New Occupational of Safety & Health Act 2022 to provides a provision requiring an employer to appoint one of their employees to act as an Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator (OSH-C) for places of work that are not included in any class or description of place of work in the Gazette requiring a safety and health coordinator.

The main goal of safety and health programs (including coordinator) is to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and deaths, as well as the suffering and financial hardship these events can cause for workers, their families, and employers.

Yayasan Pengguna Negara Malaysia, Bintulu Branch organised our 9th Training Course for Occupation Safety & Health Coordinator OSHC 3-day training course with collaboration with Alpha Frontier HSE Consultancy Sdn Bhd (Accredited by the Department of Safety & Health Malaysia) at META Learning Centre, Time Square Mega Mall, Bintulu.

Day 2 – Our OSH Coordinator trainees presenting Occupation Safety & Health Workspace Proposal guided Dr. Ling Yee Soon (DOSH Certified OSHC Trainer).

22nd September 2024 –

Yayasan Pengguna Negara Malaysia (YPNM), Bintulu branch has successfully organized the 9th of the Three (3) days training course for “Occupational Safety & Health Coordinator (OSH-C)” 职业安全和健康协调员 in collaboration with Alpha FrontierHSE Consultancy Sdn Bhd (Accredited by the Department of Safety & Health Malaysia)at META Learning Centre, Time Square Mega Mall, Bintulu.

Mr. Jimmy Ling 林以群, Secretary of YPNM Sarawak, stated that the New 2022 Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Act mandates employers to designate an employee as an Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator (OSH-C) in workplaces specified in the Gazette started 1st June, 2024 during this graduation ceremony. The Act imposes a penalty, with fines up to RM50,000, imprisonment for a maximum of six months, or both, for failure to appoint an OSH Coordinator or Safety and Health Officer, as required.

Mr Jimmy also stated that Ensuring a Secure and Healthy work environment is a fundamental Consumer Right in Malaysia.

Consequently, YPNM is committed to conducting the OSH Coordinator Training & Certification programs across Sarawak. The aim is to enhance awareness among all employers in Sarawak, ultimately safeguarding consumers.

YPNM is presently partnering with a DOSH-certified training provider to conduct the OSH-C course, and the entire program is eligible for claims under the HRDC claimable scheme.
