Ngu, Mr. Michael Hii and Mr. Anthony Ling.Yayasan Pengguna Negara Malaysia is an NGO registered under and governed by Prime Minister’s Department. Our main role is to protect the rights of consumers from oppression and deception by any third parties such as shopkeepers, traders, government agencies and private companies.
YPNM Bintulu has identified and established Three (3) main missions which consist and comprise “EDUCATION, TRANSFORMATION & IMPLEMENTATION”. We shall from time to time organize seminar(s) to educate the consumers about their rights provided under the law of Malaysia and at the same time, transform them to be responsible and smart consumers. We also work closely with Government Agencies, especially the KPDN in order to create awareness and implement the Government’s policies among the community. Apart from that, YPNM Bintulu will be involved and engaged with the relevant agencies to do charity in order to help the necessary parties.
Yayasan Pengguna Negara Malaysia (YPNM) Bintulu’s Branch had on 13th February, 2023, paid a courtesy visit to the Ketua Cawangan of Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Kos Sara Hidup, Bintulu, Tuan Nazari bin Hassan. This delegation was led by our YPNM Sarawak Chairman Mr. Daren
Ling together with Mr. Jimmy Ling (Secretary YPNM Sarawak), YPNM Bintulu Chariman, Kapitan Dr. Simon Hong and his team. The purpose of this visit is to have joint discussion in strengthening the bilateral relationship between us as well as providing our fullest cooperation to the Ministry in implementing their policies.
We have a very fruitful discussion whereby we have touched on several current issues especially “Digitalisation Pengguna Sarawak” for our newly launched “Rakan YPNM App”, an online platform App for consumers to check “Ceiling Price” on the KPDN’s Controlled Items in Sarawak and to make
complaints online through our App if Rakan YPNM found that any incorrect information provides by Business Operator.
YPNM Bintulu had set up “Biro Pemantauan” which will be trained by KPDN’s Officers and are ready to assist and follow up on all kinds of complaints received through our “Rakan YPNM App”.
YPNM Bintulu will from time to time, work together closely with KPDN Bintulu to organize events, seminars and any other platforms in order to protect the interest of the consumer.
